Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2001 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: gut, Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität Greifswald (Deutsche Philologie), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: "Der Begriff und die Tragödie der Kultur" - Dieser Titel des von Georg Simmel 1911 in: Philosophische Kultur. Über das Abenteuer, die Geschlechter und die Krise der Moderne erschienenen Aufsatzes soll zugleich als Überschrift und Leitmotiv meiner Arbeit dienen. Simmel entwickelt in diesem Aufsatz seine Kulturtheorie und beschreibt ein Spannungsverhältnis von Subjekt und Objekt, von Mensch und kulturellen Produkten. Die moderne Entwicklung bringt eine objektive Kulturleistung hervor, die der einzelne Mensch sich nicht mehr subjektiv aneignen kann und es kommt zur Tragödie der Kultur. Fast 70 Jahre später setzt sich Jürgen Habermas in seiner Rede vom 11. September 1980 "Die Moderne - ein unvollendetes Projekt" mit den neueren kulturellen Entwicklungen, bezogen auf den Konflikt zwischen Moderne und Postmoderne, auseinander. In dieser kritischen Betrachtung moderner Entwicklungen wird gleichzeitig sein kulturtheoretischer Ansatz deutlich, wobei sich ihm ein ähnliches Problem bezüglich des Verhältnisses von Subjekt und Objekt stellt. Zunehmende Ausdifferenzierung und die Entwicklung in Wissenschaftsdiskursen sind grundlegende Motive, die ähnlich der Simmelschen Analyse eine Entfremdung von Individuum und Kulturobjekten mit sich führt. In dieser Arbeit werden nun die zwei kulturtheoretischen Ansätze von Simmel und Habermas zuerst dargestellt und unter dem Blickwinkel einer 'Tragödie der Kultur' miteinander in Verbindung gebracht. Die dabei herausgestellten Probleme, insbesondere das Verhältnis von Subjekt und Objekt, werden anschließend auf Alexander Kluges "Chronik der Gefühle" angewendet. Kluge verfolgt mit seiner literarischen Tätigkeit ein aufklärerisches Konzept, daß in Grundzügen und an Hand der Chronik beschrieben werden wird.
