Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2003 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Printmedien, Presse, Note: 1, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (Institut für Kommunikationswissenschaft), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: "Die Frage, auf welche Quellen sich die Medien stützen und welche Bezugsgruppen bei der Medienkommunikation wirksam werden, hat schon früh die Neugier der Kommunikationsforschung geweckt." Schon 1910 sprach Max Weber beim 1. Deutschen Soziologentag von der "'Stoffbeschaffung'" im Zeitungswesen, nachdem die Nachrichtenagenturen bei Zeitungen vermehrt zu "'Journalismus aus zweiter Hand'" geführt hatten. Bis heute haben Nachrichtenagenturen als Informationslieferanten für Zeitungen und andere Massenmedien an Bedeutung hinzu gewonnen. Denn ungefähr 800 bedruckte Zeitungsseiten mit Agenturmeldungen erreichen eine große deutsche Tageszeitung täglich aufgrund moderner Technik, die zu noch schnellerer Übermittlung von noch umfangreicherem Textmaterial führt als damals. Immerhin stehen in Deutschland fünf große Nachrichtenagenturen und weitere Spezialagenturen mit gesonderten Themengebieten für die Informationsbeschaffung zur Verfügung. Zusammen mit anderem Nachrichtenmaterial, wie z.B. Pressemitteilungen, sorgen die Agenturen also für eine regelrechte Informationsflut in den Zeitungsredaktionen. Und es ist Aufgabe der Redakteure, die Masse von Informationen zu selektieren und zu bearbeiten. Dabei bleibt offen, inwieweit die eigene Recherchetätigkeit der Journalisten darunter zu leiden hat oder gar gelähmt wird, wie Barbara Baerns behauptet: "Da Informationen ohnedies, mediengerecht, geliefert werden, fehlt es am äußeren Zwang, Motivation mit Sachkompetenz und Ressourcen auszustatten und in die Form von Handlungen zu übersetzen." Daher erscheint es mir aus Sicht der Nachrichtenforschung interessant zu untersuchen, wieviel "Fremdbeiträge" zu Lasten der Beiträge, die von eigenen Journalisten geschrieben werden, nun tatsächlich in den Tageszeitungen abgedruckt werden
