Aber noch fehlte es an dem Geschöpf, dessen Leib so beschaffen war, dass der Geist in ihm Wohnung machen und von ihm aus die Erdenwelt beherrschen konnte. Da betrat Prometheus die Erde, ein Sprössling des alten Göttergeschlechter..." - so beginnt wohl einer der bekanntesten griechischen Mythen, der durch immer neue künstlerische Gestaltung und Bearbeitung noch bis heute lebendig geblieben ist. Unter Mythen sind sagenähnliche Erzählungen von Göttern, Helden und Dämonen zu verstehen. Sie entstanden meist als Erklärung sowohl des Welt- und des Menschenursprungs, wie auch noch nicht erkannter Naturerscheinungen und Zusammenhänge in der Ur- und Früh-zeit der Menschheitsentwicklung. Genauso wie die Religion, so ist auch die Mythologie Ausdruck einer gewissen Ohnmacht, der schicksalhaft empfundenen Abhängigkeit der Menschen vom Einfluss der Natur und Gesellschaft. Parallel widerspiegeln sie immer eine ganz bestimmte Entwicklungsstufe der Lebensweise des jeweiligen Volkes. Jeweils solche Erscheinungen werden als göttlich verehrt, die für das Leben und Werden eines Volkes von besonderer Bedeutung waren. So findet man Sonnen- und Regengötter, Götter des Waldes, der Jagd, des Meeres usw. In phan-tastischen Erzählungen werden u. a. ihr Wirken und ihre Beziehungen zu den Menschen beschrieben. Die Kenntnis der alten Mythen verdankt man in hohem Maße den literarischen Überlieferungen. Wie die Märchen sind auch unzählbare Mythen allgemein bekannt und weit verbreitet - nicht zuletzt wegen ihrer poetischen Sprache und der in ihnen gestalteten Menschheitsprobleme. About the Author: Dr. Radoslaw Lis wurde 1980 in Radom (Polen) geboren. Sein Studium der Germanistik an der Universitat Warschau schloss der Autor im Jahre 2013 mit dem akademischen Grad des Doktors erfolgreich ab. Fasziniert von der deutschen Kultur und Sprache, verbrachte der Autor langere Zeit in Deutschland. Seine Tatigkeiten bei verschiedenen Bildungsanstalten motivierten ihn, sich der Thematik des Schul- und Erziehungswesens zu widmen.
