English summary: The incunabula collection preserved at the library of the University of Leipzig contains nearly 3,700 exemplars and is one of the most important collections of its kind in Germany. In this catalog, the collection is indexed for the first time according to the principles of modern historical and library studies. The individual features of every print, such as binding, decoration, owner's marks and marginalia are systematically recorded and used spoilage of the covers, the manuscripts they were bound with, and newer editions are also descripted. A great portion of these incunabula belong to the original collection of the university library, which originated in 1543 when Caspar Borner, the rector of the university at the time, was able to persuade Duke Moritz to bring the libraries from monasteries secularized during the Reformation to the together in Albertine Saxony at Leipzig. The result was the first central library of the university. 150 years later, the old book collections of the philosophical faculty and the ducal college were also united with the university library and because the holdings of the library developed in this way, they offer an extensive view into the intellectual history of Saxony around 1500. German description: Die an der Universitatsbibliothek Leipzig aufbewahrte Inkunabelsammlung umfasst rund 3700 Exemplare und gehort zu den bedeutenden Inkunabelsammlungen in Deutschland. In diesem Katalog wird die Sammlung erstmals nach modernen geschichts- und bibliothekswissenschaftlichen Grundsatzen erschlossen. Dabei wurden die individuellen Merkmale aller Drucke wie Einband, Buchschmuck, Besitzvermerke und Marginalien systematisch erfasst sowie die fur die Einbande verwendeten Makulaturen und die beigebundenen Handschriften und jungeren Drucke beschrieben. Ein grosser Teil dieser Inkunabeln gehort zum Grundungsbestand der Universitatsbibliothek. Diese entstand 1543, als Caspar Borner, der damalige Rektor der Universitat, Herzog Moritz davon uberzeugen konnte, die im Verlaufe der Reformation sakularisierten Klosterbibliotheken des albertinischen Sachsens in Leipzig zu vereinigen. Dadurch entstand erstmals eine zentrale Bibliothek an der Universitat. 150 Jahre spater wurden die alten Buchersammlungen der Philosophischen Fakultat und der Furstenkollegien mit der Universitatsbibliothek vereinigt. Der auf diesem Weg entstandene Fundus an Inkunabeln bietet einen hervorragenden Einblick in die Geistesgeschichte Sachsens um 1500. In den Katalog ist die Erschliessung der Inkunabeln der Stadtbibliothek Leipzig einbezogen; ebenfalls als Depositum werden die Leipziger Kirchenbibliotheken von St. Nicolai und St. Thomas in der Universitatsbibliothek aufbewahrt.
