Es soll zudem untersucht werden, inwieweit virtuelle Führung eine Rolle spielt und ob es eine Aufgabe der Organisationsentwicklung sein muss, virtuelle Teams zu entwickeln, die notwendigen Kompetenzen für eine selbstorganisierte Entwicklung zu fördern und einen Rahmen für die virtuelle Zusammenarbeit zu bieten. Das Ziel der Arbeit ist, die Entwicklung eines Leitfadens, der die Möglichkeiten und Maßnahmen bei der Entwicklung virtueller Teams darstellt. Die Grundlage des Leitfadens soll das Phasenmodell der Teamentwicklung von Bruce Tuckman darstellen, wobei hier zwischen den Phasen von traditionellen Präsenzteams und virtuellen Teams verglichen und unterschieden wird. Somit können die Möglichkeiten und Maßnahmen bei der Entwicklung virtueller Teams in die Teamentwicklungsphasen von Tuckman eingeordnet werden. Kooperation und Zusammenarbeit in virtuellen Teams ist ein heiß diskutiertes Thema, welches einerseits als weitreichende und sogar unangenehme Folge der Digitalisierung und Industrialisierung gesehen wird. Andererseits bedeutet diese Folge laut Ivanov aber auch eine revolutionäre Chance, die Organisationen einen enormen Vorteil für den Umgang mit neuartigen und globalen Herausforderungen verschafft. Es ist also unumstritten, dass die virtuelle Zusammenarbeit eine bedeutende Rolle im aktuellen Wandel der Arbeitswelt spielt. Die genannten Herausforderungen führen zu der Frage, ob und inwieweit virtuelle Teams in ihren Phasen der Teamentwicklung unterstützt werden müssen, um erfolgreich sein zu können und somit den Unternehmenserfolg maßgeblich beeinflussen
