Dazu wird sich ausschließlich auf den Primärtext, die Vorrede sowie das erste Kapitel "Begriff der Aufklärung" ihres Werks "Dialektik der Aufklärung" bezogen. Der Primärtext soll zusammenfassend und kommentierend bearbeitet werden, zur weiteren Illustration werden teilweise eigene Gedanken und Beispiele hinzugezogen. Das Werk "Dialektik der Aufklärung" von Max Horkheimer und Theodor W. Adorno ist als eine Ansammlung von Essays im Zuge des Zweiten Weltkriegs 1944 entstanden und als eine Art Reaktion der Autoren auf die historischen Ereignisse der Entstehungszeit zu verstehen. Sie stellen sich im Allgemeinen die Frage, wie durch Aufklärung entstandener Fortschritt der Menschheit in der Zivilisation durch das Aufkommen des Faschismus des "Dritten Reichs" einen solchen Rückschritt tun konnte und wie Aufklärung damit verquickt sein könnte. Den Faschismus bezeichnen sie als eine "neue Art von Barbarei" durch "die rastlose Selbstzerstörung der Aufklärung", was sie als "Zusammenbruch der bürgerlichen Gesellschaft" werten (Adorno/Horkheimer 1969: 1). Derselbe resultiere ihrer Meinung nach aus der Philosophie der Aufklärung, die vor allem auf dem Herrschaftsprinzip beruht, das heißt auf der Beherrschung der Natur durch den Menschen und des Menschen durch denselben. (Ebd.: 2-5) Die Autoren ersuchen die Ursachen dieser Entwicklung in der Aufklärung in sich selbst und sprechen von dem Übergang der Aufklärung in Mythisches, von dem sie sich eigentlich loszusagen versuchte. Dabei wird auch teilweise Kritik an der kapitalistischen Produktionsweise geübt, durch welche in einer Art Kreislauf Ü
