About the Book

We like to put the past behind us while believing what's done, is done. This is especially true with our childhood. We like to pretend to be better, long before the scars can heal. Jonella Woods is an award-winning author, who decided to self-fix her problems by writing and publishing her story. Was this enough for her to move beyond her past? With life being no short journey, she encounters challenges with messy friendships, inconsistent relationships, and unwanted situation-ships. Will she continue to go with the flow or change the tide? Based on real-life experiences.
About the Author: To begin, I am black female straight out of Memphis, TN. Against all of the reinforced stereotypes and stigmas, I managed to claw my self out of high school at 16 years old and my teens without getting pregnant. About three years ago, I poofed. Now when I say poof, I don't mean something sci-fi, no. I mean a mental cloud literally disappeared after hearing words from Dick Gregory (may he Rest In Peace) like "Poof!". From then on, I thought independently. Holy Shit! Bring on the stones and sage! (kidding) So first, I went to google see if I would go to hell or not. Not long after that, I concluded, my existence is much greater than going up or down and being judged. Since I believe the Galaxy is infinite, I should also acknowledge our solar system is a tiny part of it, and when it comes to God, I believe there is some kind of source energy creating and enforcing Univeral Law in all living things, but who can show me proof? So here I am, in the middle of the south, where most conversations in my age group are only as deep as pussy, and as complex as rounding to the nearest 10th to see if you can afford the tax on everything buyable. Can you imagine how difficult it would be to find someone to tell how far you've come in your understanding of self in reference to energy, frequency, spirituality, and even death, no? So I spoke/wrote to myself, addressing what originally made me believe anything. Upon this writing, I began to see that I have some negative beliefs about myself. I called them issues. Though sometimes it may seem to be otherwise, all of my issues originate and end inside of me; meaning that I was in control of them. I could stop the breaking of my self-esteem, self-worth, and adjust my self-care. After understanding, most of my issues have been affecting me long before I could recognize their effects; I accepted that I've been coping for a while, and it may take a while to fix. I then decided to push this change forward, by organizing fiction books, based on the journey; for me and everyone else using their past to find their purpose. I hope you see the value in this excerpt enough to join me on the voyage to true self-satisfaction. Thank You, Dajha Catron @DajhaCatron
