Schulpolitik, Note: 1,5, Technische Universität Dortmund, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Das Zusammenbringen des Begriffs Hochbegabung und der Forderung nach besonderer Förderung klingt vielleicht für manche zunächst kontrovers, da vielfach angenommen wird, das Hochbegabte die Sonnenkinder der Gesellschaft sind, denen alles zufliegt. Sie haben gute Noten in der Schule, lernen schneller als die anderen Kinder und üben als Erwachsene verantwortungsvolle und hoch angesehene Berufe aus oder werden berühmte Leute. In den Medien wird über Wunderkinder berichtet, die außergewöhnliche Dinge vollbringen. Generell löst Hochbegabung ein Erstaunen, eine Bewunderung und eine Wertschätzung aus. Wenn jedoch besondere Förderung für diese Kinder verlangt wird, wird von Elitebildung und undemokratischen Absichten gesprochen, wodurch dieses Thema negativ belegt wird. Viele teilen auch die Ansicht, eine Förderung sollte ausschließlich den Schwächeren vorbehalten sein, zum Beispiel ausschließlich Kindern mit Lernschwierigkeiten. Dabei wird vergessen, dass jeder einen Anspruch auf die Entfaltung seiner Persönlichkeit und seiner Fähigkeiten hat. Es gibt hoch begabte Kinder, in denen Begabungen schlummern, die jedoch aus den unterschiedlichsten Gründen nicht bemerkt werden. Es gibt auch hoch begabte Kinder, die ihre Fähigkeiten nicht in schulische Leistungen umsetzen können und in der Schule versagen. Wenn Begabungen nicht entdeckt werden, enthalten wir diesen Kindern nicht etwas von ihrer Lebensfreude vor? Wenn sie doch bei einer Erkennung und Förderung mehr Erfolgserlebnisse verzeichnen könnten? Was ist mit denjenigen Kindern, bei denen eine hohe Begabung offensichtlich ist, die aber im Schulalltag oder in ihren Familien ständig in ihrem Wissensdurst gebremst werden?
