About the Book

This story is based on historical facts using history and historical figures to produce a story line. It starts in 1701 when Daniel is flogged to the point of death for allowing the stalks of the barley he was carrying to lift the skirt of the Overseer's daughters dress. The Devil comes to him on the point of death and offers him immortality if he will spread his word to the people. Daniel was no saint nor a religious man and accepted the Devil's offer and immediately returns to life as the manacles holding him to the whipping post dissolve before him. He grabs the whip and flogs the overseer's henchman to death. The story follows his new life and eventual immigration to the Colony of North America and to Virginia. His family has grown by then and he has a son called Lucifer, and a companion David. They need to build an army of seeds through their own sperm and can seed both men and women. Lucifer or Lucky for short, enters the British Dragoons in Virginia and learns to fight as an officer making good contacts in the high society of Virginia. However, his looks do not alter and he is forced, like Daniel and the other family members to move every 15 to 20 years. After his wife dies, Lucky leaves the Dragoons and forms his own Militia formed from the ever growing seeds at the homestead, and is involved with many fights between the Seeds and the Lights. This book is designed to make the reader think what could happen if the Devil did decide to develop a following on earth. It will portray some of our despots of history as the story unfolds in future books, as The Devil's Seed, so some may object if they were followers or supporters of these people. Please remember they are used as characters in a fictional novel. This is book 1 in a series of books aimed to cover history to the present day. How many books in the series? It all depends on how fascinating the characters of history become and how I can weave them into my books.
About the Author: Phillip Lesbirel was born in 1949 in Guernsey Channel Islands and immigrated to Australia in 1965. Several job changes later and in 1978 Phil entered the military and completed an adult apprenticeship as a Motor Mechanic and Ground Support Equipment fitter. Serving 25 years and enjoying every moment, he retired in 2002 and headed to an Aboriginal Community in Lajamanu in the Northern Territory to manage and work at the local service station and repair shop. On the ceasing of his contract and a move to Melbourne, he entered retail but Melbourne was not the city for him and he then, in 2004, moved to Cairns in Far Northern Queensland where he still lives today. It is here where he started to write and his first novel was completed in 2006 and published in 2009. That was "A Trip to Hell". Since then he has published 42 novels and 20 short stories and 6 One act plays.
