About the Book

Murder is shocking, no matter what the circumstances. But the perversity of some murders stun even hardened investigators. Mutilated corpses, sick rituals and obscene souvenirs are some of the ingredients that make certain murders truly deviant. This books reveals seven of these murders; the grisly deeds of five truly bizarre killers. These are stories about secrets, lies, and perversity. These are stories about murder. Real stories.

The Case of George Kent WallaceOn Sunday, February 22nd, 1987, three small boys were playing near Leard Cemetery on the southwest edge of Fort Smith, east of the Oklahoma-Arkansas line. It was shortly after 1:30 p.m. when the youngsters, who were playing around a farm pond, made a gruesome discovery. Lying face down in about six inches of water in the shallow end of the pond was the fully clothed body of a boy, obviously dead.

The Case of Edmund MatthewsOn December 3, 1986, a homeless transient looking for a place to camp overnight climbed a trail on a North Hollywood hillside. Near another steep incline, the transient started to make his way around a large tree, but when he casually glanced down, he froze in his tracks. Staring at him vacantly from the base of the tree were the hollowed-out eye sockets of a human skull. Other large bones lay close to the skull. The remnants of a rope that was looped around the trunk still clung to other skeletal remains.

The Case of Darci PierceAfter exposing the soft flesh of the victim's stomach, the woman scratched feverishly with the key until the skin broke. As she continued to scratch and scrape, a pool of blood bloomed from the victim's abdomen, slowly at first, then poured out into a large puddle as the cut deepened. At last she could see the unborn baby, and she desperately tore more flesh to get at it so she could pull it out of its mother's womb.
The Case of Kendall ArthurIt was Sunday, December 21st, when Leah's relatives arrived at the isolated cabin. Something didn't look right about the place. For one thing, there was too much snow on the roof. The place was poorly insulated and in the winter, with the wood crackling in the pot-bellied stove, all the heat rose to the rafters of the cabin and escaped out the top. Hence, the snow should have been melted. But it wasn't. This indicated there hadn't been a fire in the stove for weeks. That was a bad sign. However, there was one occupant of the cabin, they soon discovered. She had been ceremoniously placed on the cot, an eagle feather left on her breast to help her spirit into the hereafter.
The Case of Robert CloutierThe man's two large hands reached toward Dina, clutching her garments and tugging at them with ferocious energy. Her own hands went up, pushing him away. But even as Dina pushed, she was being pulled closer toward him. Dina screamed and all at once the man stopped jerking. One of his hands gripped a blanket lying on the backseat and slid it on to the floorboard. The dawn sun was high enough for Dina to get an eyeful of the ghastly object that lay rigid there on the seat-a young woman's corpse.
