About the Book

Writing is a means of expressing emotions that stimulate the individual's sense of expression. The act of writing helps to contextualize their true feelings. Research has shown that when 15 healthy undergraduates participated in four successive nights of writing about the most painful experiences of their lives, those who were able to clearly communicate their feelings to each other showed more positive mental health than writing on neutral topics. According to University of California psychologists, communicating our feelings, whether verbally or in written words, can decrease activity in the brain's sensitive area, and keep our thinking brain constantly active, so feelings like bitterness, outrage, and agony become less significant. people have found that sharing their sentiments and feelings after experiencing unpleasant situations and events can assist them to cope with the resulting emotional aftereffects. In the traditional ways of writing, there are certain conventions and style rules. However, since the Internet has penetrated 3.5 billion users worldwide today, gigantic amount of data is available on Social Networking Sites like Facebook, Twitter, etc. Nowadays the most influential and quickest method of communicating online is by using Social Networking Sites. People keep in touch easily with friends, family, co-workers, or the world at large. 3,03 billion active Internet users1 are on social media sites daily, and most are older than 18-49 years old who post photos and videos, share their daily activities, and give feedback on products, political parties, social issues, films and many more. More than 2.072 billion Facebook users worldwide make the social network an indispensable tool for communicating with each other and sharing information. Facebook has an 88 percent user base between 18 and 29 years old.

An affective state originates in the underlying sensation, emotion, or mood of the person. We experience affect through our emotions, ranging from horrendous to wonderful (value) and from upset to quiet (excitement). Expressing emotions is an important aspect of social interaction. Having strong emotions is important to person's belief system and sentiments. They are described as processes that facilitate individuals' adjustment to constantly changing social situations. Individuals often relate emotions to issues of importance to them as a way of developing, preserving, or disrupting their relationships with the world. They are integral components of our lives, and they serve important functions. Emotions are integral to our psychological makeup, as they play an essential role in our individual relationships, in our interactions with others in groups, and in our societies. Without emotions, life is impossible.

The emotions influence our rational thinking, sometimes in a positive way, sometimes in a negative way. We often find it difficult to think clearly and decisively when we are extremely emotional, but easier when we are not overwhelmed by emotions (Matsumoto et al.,2006). The emotions we feel are continuous and they change constantly with time. An emotion analysis is essential for detecting the subject-specific deep emotions within the given dataset. Emotion analysis is aimed at identifying the intensity of these changes people feel and express through various kinds of emotions. Three stages form the basis of emotion analysis, including detecting and evaluating the emotions underlying a dataset, evaluating their intensity, and correlating those emotions with each other. Textual emotion detection is a more-detailed approach to emotional analysis. There have been several recent studies that have explored feelings beyond polarity. Textual emotion detection refers to the process of inferring certain types of emotions from written words.
