About the Book

Framed by chilling historical fact and edge of the seat adventure, two college professors and a beautiful Indian shaman suddenly find themselves in a gripping time travel odyssey which may cost them their lives! Peter Krause is a twenty-eight year old German physics professor in 1935. David Kelly is a thirty-four year old history professor in Arizona in 2010. In the closing days of World War Two Adolf Hitler retreated to his Fuhrerbunker in Berlin. Surrounded by thousands of Russian troops, no escape was possible. Hitler committed suicide on April 30, 1945. David is aware of this fact. Peter Krause will be there when it happens. In May of 1945, not believing Hitler was dead, the Russian leader Josef Stalin sent SMERSH (Russian Intelligence) agents to Berlin to determine the facts. In June of 1945, SMERSH obtained a bullet pierced fragment of Hitler's skull and the definitive proof he died in the Fuhrerbunker. In 2009, a DNA analysis by the genetics laboratory of the University of Connecticut revealed the "Hitler skull fragment" actually belonged to a woman less than forty years old. That discovery eliminated the only proof Adolf Hitler died in the Fuhrerbunker in 1945.Lomasi Goodwater is a Navajo shaman living in the Arizona desert in 2010. She is haunted by visions of George Washington being assassinated on the eve of the Revolutionary War.A mysterious man named Tse will set in motion a terrifying journey across continents and centuries which will bring Peter, David and Lomasi together to confront the greatest evil civilization has ever faced.
About the Author: James Wharton is an American author of historical fiction, humorous, and supernatural novels and short stories. His historical novels are set on a foundation of factual historical mystery and the humorous novels are based on biographical events and unique, bizarre individuals he has encountered along the way. His supernatural works are grounded in credible events. Favorite quotation: "Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it." (Edmund Burke (1729-1797) Wharton is an Adjunct Professor of Economics and Marketing. At age 14 he left home to work for three years as a page boy in the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. He spent four years in the military, one in the Viet Nam War, attaining the rank of Captain. His interest in history is a result of his family background, experience in Washington, D.C. and the military. Wharton traces his lineage back to the Revolutionary War with several ancestors serving at Valley Forge. He was born on February 22 (the same month and day as George Washington) in St. Louis, Missouri. His mother, Edna, was born on February 12 (the same month and day as Abraham Lincoln). He also has a strong background in aviation and archeology. His historical novels include Detour, and The Destiny Project. The Empyrean, Arizona Series of humorous novels include Book One: Deluxe UFO Tour Company, and Book Two: Invasion of the Moon Women. Strange Breakfast and Other Humorous Morsels is a collection of humorous short stories. Ghosts of the Grand Canyon Country and Ghosts of Arizona's Tonto National Forest are short story collections. Future works include The Empyrean, Arizona Series Book Three, a humorous literary novel, supernatural short story collection, and a horror themed short story collection. Wharton attended Capitol Page School in the Library of Congress and graduated from Washington University in St. Louis. He is a nephew of the American poet Will Wharton. He married his childhood sweetheart, Carol Jo Simon, whom he loved before they ever met.
