Akademische Arbeit aus dem Jahr 2019 im Fachbereich Didaktik für das Fach Englisch - Sonstiges, Note: 2.0, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In dieser Arbeit soll die Bedeutung des "scaffolding" im bilingualen Sachfachunterricht untersucht werden. Seit der Verankerung des bilingualen Unterrichts im Elysée-Vertrag von 1963 und im Sinne eines zunehmend transkulturellen Europas und der damit im Zusammenhang stehenden Förderung der interkulturellen Kompetenz der Schüler und Schülerinnen der Bundesrepublik haben bilinguale Unterrichtsmodelle zunehmend an Bedeutung gewonnen. Während 1999 der erste Bericht der Kultusministerkonferenz deutschlandweit nur 336 Schulen mit bilingualem Angebot verzeichnete, waren es im Jahre 2013 bereits 1500 Schulen mit steigender Tendenz. Vor dem Hintergrund einer zunehmend heterogenen Schülerschaft mit einem wachsenden Anteil an Schülern und Schülerinnen, die aufgrund ihres Migrationshintergrundes nur in unzureichendem Maße über Kompetenzen verfügen, die für den Erwerb der für den bilingualen Sachfachunterricht notwendigen Fachsprache von Bedeutung sind, werden Unterstützungsstrategien für den systematischen Aufbau eines fachunterrichtssprachlichen Registers in der Fremdsprache (und in der Schulsprache) unabdingbar. Freilich kann sich der Vorschlag einer Anbahnung der für den bilingualen Sachfachunterricht notwendigen sprachlichen Gebrauchsmuster im parallel geführten Fremdsprachenunterricht als sinnvoll erweisen, wenn es um sprachliche Kompetenzen geht, die sowohl dem Fremdsprachenunterricht als auch dem BSFU dienlich sind, wie beispielsweise Texterschließungsstrategien und die Arbeit mit den Operatoren. Jedoch verfolgen der FSU und der BSFU grundsätzlich unterschiedliche sprachliche Zielsetzungen: Erstere hat einen kommunikativen Schwerpunkt und letztere bedient sich der epistemischen Funktion der Sprache.
