About the Book

The contents of this book are based on research completed at Synergy Microwave Corporation and sponsored by DARPA and the U.S.Army. The main focus is on the classic single resonator oscillator and its thorough treatment for both nonlinear analysis and phase noise. The last two chapters of the book are based on this research and investigate multiple coupled oscillators. This last part is especially key; the concept of multiple coupled oscillators in printed circuit design has opened the door for a huge improvement in performance.

About the Author

Ulrich L. Rohde is a professor of microwave and RF technology at the Technische Universitaet Cottbus, Germany; Chairman of Synergy Microwave Corp.,Paterson, NJ; partner of Rohde & Schwarz, Munich, Germany; a member of the Innovations for High Performance Microelectronics (IHP) Scientific Advisory Council, Frankfurt Oder, Germany. Ajay K. Poddar is a Senior Design Engineer for Synergy Microwave Corp., Paterson, NJ; previously he was a Senior Scientist for the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) (1991-2001), ARDE, Pune, India. Georg Böck is a full professor of microwave engineering at the Technische Universitaet Berlin, Germany and head of the microwave department. His main areas of research are characterization, modeling and design of microwave passive and semiconductor devices,MIC's and MMIC's up to the millimeter wave range
