1. 1 Überblick Strömung und Wärmeübergang in der Umgebung rotierender Scheiben sind für den Theoretiker von Interesse. Im laminaren Bereich lassen sich die Navier- Stokesschen Gleichungen, die Kontinuitäts- und die Energiegleichung für den Fall der freien Scheibe exakt lösen und ermöglichen damit eine Überprüfung geeigneter Näherungsverfahren. Für den Ingenieur hat die rotierende Scheibe praktische Bedeutung, da sie als vereinfachtes Modell für viele rotierende Ma- schinenteile aufgefaßt werden kann. Das trifft beispielsweise für Gasturbinen zu, bei denen OPRECHT [1] festgestellt hat, daß erhebliche Leistungssteigerungen durch gute Läuferkühlung zu erzielen sind. Bei dem von SCHULTZ-GRUNOW [2] entwickelten Isotopentrennverfahren ruft eine gekühlte Scheibe, die in einem beheizten Gehäuse rotiert, die Trennung hervor - Temperaturfeld und Wärme- übergang sind hierbei unmittelbar von Bedeutung. Auch in künftigen Raum- stationen könnten rotierende Scheiben und die durch sie hervorgerufene er- zwungene Konvektion wichtig werden, da wegen des fehlenden Schwerefeldes keine natürliche Konvektion möglich ist. Bei rotierenden Scheiben unterscheidet man zwischen freien Scheiben, die im unbegrenzten Raum, und Scheiben, die im ganz oder teilweise geschlossenen zylindrischen Gehäuse rotieren. Die Strömung und der Wärmeübergang an der freien Scheibe wurden sowohl theoretisch als auch experimentell in einer Reihe von Arbeiten untersucht, unter denen besonders die von v. KARMAN [3] und die von MILLAPS, POHLHAUSEN [4] hervorzuheben sind [5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11]. Zwischen geschlossenem Gehäuse und rotierender Scheibe zeigt die Flüssigkeit ein wesentlich verwickelteres Strämungsverhalten.
