Magisterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Politik - Thema: Frieden und Konflikte, Sicherheit, Note: 1,7, Philipps-Universität Marburg, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In der Türkischen Republik stehen sich seit 1984 die türkischen Sicherheitskräfte und die KämpferInnen der PKK in bewaffneten Auseinandersetzungen gegenüber. Dabei wurde in der Vergangenheit zunehmend deutlicher, dass sich keine Konfliktpartei gewaltsam durchzusetzen vermag (vgl. Dietert-Scheuer 1999: 9). Konflikte zwischen dem türkischen Staat und den auf türkischem Territorium lebenden KurdInnen existieren in verschiedenen Facetten und unterschiedlicher Intensität seit der Gründung der Türkischen Republik im Jahr 1923 (vgl. Bezwan 2008: 247). Mitte der 1980er Jahre eskalierte der Konflikt zu gewalttätigen Auseinandersetzungen zwischen dem türkischen Militär und der PKK, denen viele Menschen, auch unbeteiligte ZivilistInnen, zum Opfer fielen (vgl. Buro 2007: 2). Die bewaffneten Auseinandersetzungen und die Unterdrückung der Kurden stellen ein Hindernis für eine weitere Demokratisierung in der Türkei dar (vgl. Gürbey 1995: IV) und haben die türkische Gesellschaft tief gespalten. Zudem gefährdet der Konflikt die Stabilität des Landes und behindert die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung in der Türkei (vgl. Steinbach 2002b: 35). Das Konzept Zivile Konfliktbearbeitung beschäftigt sich mit Möglichkeiten und Wegen, Konflikte ohne militärische Gewalt mit zivilen Mitteln zu bearbeiten. Davon ausgehend, dass Konflikte durchaus auch positive Attribute besitzen und wichtige Impulse für eine Gesellschaft darstellen können, wird versucht, die gewaltsame Konfliktaustragung in eine gewaltlose zu transformieren (vgl. Wolleh 2001). Intention der Arbeit ist es, den Konflikt zwischen dem türkischen Staat und den Kurden zu analysieren und anhand dieser Analyse, Methoden zu erarbeiten, mit Hilfe derer der türkisch-kurdische Konflikt zivil bearbeitet werden kann.
