Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 1991 im Fachbereich Kunst - Architektur, Baugeschichte, Denkmalpflege, Note: sehr gut, Philipps-Universität Marburg (Kunstgeschichtliches Institut), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Der St. Galler Klosterplan zeigt den Grundriss der Gesamtanlage eines karolingischen Benediktinerklosters. Er wurde kurz vor 830 auf der Reichenau für den St. Galler Abt Gozbert angefertigt, welcher den Neubau seiner Abtei plante. Der Plan, der noch heute in der Stiftsbibliothek St. Gallen aufbewahrt wird, ist auf einem Kalbspergament vor 112 cm x 77,5 cm, das aus fünf kleineren Blättern zusammengenäht ist, in mennigroter Tinte gezeichnet und in braunschwarzer Tinte beschriftet. Die Anlage umfasst mehr als 40 Gebäude, deren Funktionen durch Tituli und Sinnbilder bestimmt werden. Allerdings handelt es sich nicht um einen spezifisch auf das St. Galler Projekt abgestimmten Ausführungsplan, sondern um einen Idealentwurf, der den für ein monastisches Leben gemäß der Regula Benedicti notwendigen architektonischen Rahmen vorgibt. Dennoch wäre der Entwurf, begreift man ihn als Schnurplan, durchaus baulich umsetzbar. Die Benediktsregel behandelt in erster Linie die Lebensweise der Mönche, nicht die architektonische Gestalt ihres Wohnortes. Die Vorschriften der Regel bedingen jedoch direkt oder indirekt das Vorhandensein diverser Baulichkeiten. Die Entstehung dieses Idealplanes steht in Zusammenhang mit der Klosterreform Benedikts von Aniane und der Aachener Reformsynoden von 816/17. Ziel der Reform, die sich nahtlos in die Politik Ludwigs des Frommen einfügte, war die Einführung der Ordensregel Benedikts von Nursia als alleingültige Regel für sämtliche Klöster des Frankenreiches. Dass den Äbten als Anleitung für den Bau einer adäquaten Klosteranlage ein derartiger Musterplan, von dem vermutlich weitere Exemplare in Umlauf waren, an die Hand gegeben wurde, erscheint plausibel. Seit 2004 als freie Kunsthistorikerin selbstandig tatig, u. a. Mitarbeit an der Ausstellung "Tausend Jahre Taufe in Mitteldeutschland" (Magdeburg 2006), an der Neukonzeption des "Museums im Konventbau" in Kloster Wiblingen und des Schlossmuseums in Mannheim.
