About the Book

English summary: What happened on the 1st and 2nd of June, 1967, in Berlin? Harald Moller presents a panel discussion with Bahman Nirumand and Hanz Heinz Heldmann on June 1, 1967 in the main auditorium of the FU-Berlin, which put forward a fundamental criticism of the coup in Iran in 1953 and pointed to massive human rights violations. That from this criticism a conflict developed between the emerging anti-authoritarian movement and the authorities, ensured that it only needed the deployment of Persian Agitators in front of the Schonberg city hall the following day, in order for the police to be deployed in front of the German Opera House which resulted in the shooting of Benno Ohnesorg, a student, by the policeman Karl-Heinz Kurras. Moller asks for an explanation of these events. A broad spectrum of political theories and attempts at an explanation, beginning from the position, that we should have been dealing with a left facism of students, on the theory that these events exhibited a pre- or post-fascism of the Federal Republic, up to the assertion of the Ayatollah Khomeini, that the shah was a Tagut, a deeply immoral, who acts without any kind of restraint, a type of devil.) Moller argues for an international approach, which has the theme of authority as its central focus of analysis: the June 2nd caused among a large number of youths considerable and unbelievable shock about what they had experienced in dealing with the authorities of this system from which a questioning about the previous evaluations of the political system of the Federal Republic emerged as well as a search for something new. Finally, Moller points out that there had been at the time a rapprochement between the Soviet Union, the German Democratic Republic and Iran, which requires further analysis. Did western power understand this convergence, that it even existed and if it did, was it trying to act on it? And if so, how? German description: Was geschah am 1. und 2. Juni 1967 in Berlin?
