Examensarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Schulpädagogik, Note: 1,0, Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Technische Produkte spielen im Leben von Jung bis Alt eine wichtige Rolle. Die Hausarbeit wird durch technische Geräte wie die Spülmaschine erheblich erleichtert, territoriale Distanzen sind mithilfe eines Fahrrades, Autos oder der Eisenbahn leicht zu überwinden und die zwischenmenschliche Kommunikation wird durch Mobilfunkgeräte, Internet und Co. auch über Kontinente hinweg zum Kinderspiel. Egal in welchem Alter- Technik ist ein unerlässlicher Bestandteil in unserem Leben. Doch nicht jeder Mensch braucht gleichermaßen einen Mp3-Player, eine Playstation oder einen Flachbildschirm. Nicht jedes technische Produkt erfüllt die individuellen Bedürfnisse der Menschen. Und viele technische Errungenschaften sind sogar schädlich für die Menschen und/oder die Umwelt. Mittels subjektiver Bewertungsprozesse muss jedes Individuum selbst entscheiden, welche Technik für welchen Zweck für ihn geeignet und/oder bedeutsam ist. Unerlässlich für einen solchen Bewertungs- und Entscheidungsprozess ist das Vorhandensein von Bewertungskompetenz, also von Wissen und geeigneter Kriterien und Methoden. Leider muss man relativ häufig feststellen, dass die Bewertungskompetenz vieler Menschen zum Teil sehr schwach ausgeprägt ist. Vor Allem in Gesprächen mit Jugendlichen habe ich häufig den Eindruck gewonnen, dass das Image von bestimmten Produkten oder auch Gruppenzwänge meist wichtiger für eine Kaufentscheidung sind, als zum Beispiel die Materialeigenschaften, der Energieverbrauch, Folgekosten oder Umweltfolgen des Produktes. Die Studie "Technophil oder Technophob" aus dem Jahr 2005 bestätigt zum Teil diesen Eindruck. Technik und Technologien werden von den Schülern durchweg positiv bewertet, jedoch zeigen sie kein Interesse an deren Funktionsweise. Die Autoren stellen heraus, dass sich Schüler zwar für Experten im Umgang mit Technik halt
