About the Author: Orlando Luis Pardo Lazo (La Habana, 1971). Escritor, fotógrafo y bloguero cubano. Miembro de la Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba (UNEAC) desde 2002. En Cuba publicó los libros de cuentos Collage Karaoke (2001), Empezar de cero (2001), Ipatrías (2005) y Mi nombre es William Saroyan (2006). Fue ganador del concurso nacional de cuentos "La Gaceta de Cuba" (2005), con Cuban American Beauty. Su libro de cuentos Boring Home, ganador de una Mención en el Premio UNEAC 2007, fue retirado de la imprenta por la editorial Letras Cubanas a nales de 2008, como penalización por autopublicar provocaciones políticas en su blog Lunes de Post-Revolución. Desde 2013, imparte conferencias sobre política y literatura cubanas en universidades norteamericanas y europeas. Editó y prologó las antologías de nueva narrativa cubana Generation Year Zero (Sampsonia Way Magazine, Pittsburgh) y Cuba In Splinters (O/R Books, New York 2014), ambas traducidas al inglés. Fue Profesor Adjunto de Escritura Creativa en Brown University (2015). De 2015 a 2016 fue becario de ICORN en Reykjavík, Islandia, donde trabaja en terminar su primera novela. A partir del 2016 realiza un doctorado en Literatura Comparada en Washington University de Saint Louis, Missouri, Estados Unidos.
