D. Isaura não entendia nada do que se estava passando, e queria que lhe dessem explicações, e as malas? Onde estão nossas malas? Perguntava. Era preciso procurar as malas, desapareceram, talvez alguém as tivesse roubado? Mas que cena mais macabra..! --- Como foi isto acontecer? Quem é aquele cara ali? Aponttava para o namorado da Soraya, Elisa, assustada. Não obtinha resposta. Ninguém falava nada, os policiais de ar agressivo, obrigavam todos a desandar dali, não queriam mais aglomeração. Mas, pronto, tudo aquilo não lhe dizia respeito, refletia Elisa, não tinha nada a ver com eles, desconhecia a vida daquela gente com quem tinha se cruzado na viagem. Melhor assim, pegava nas coisas e seguia à sua vida. E Filipe? Onde estará ele? Olhava, olhava, mas era tanta gente que não dava para ver onde os seguranças estavam e para onde os levaram. Será que vão presos? Mas que comédia! Não pareciam má gente... e assim, caminhava ao longo do cais sem explicação para o que tinha acontecido ali... Mas no meio daquela gente toda surgia de repente o cavalheiro mal intencionado que parecia um touro e investia de novo sobre Filipe, espetando-lhe um valente soco num olho que o deitou por terra e ele gritava por socorro com a mão sobre o olho, gemia e rebolava com dores estatelando-se da cama abaixo, acordando toda a gente com estrondo e magoando-se severamente... As luzes acenderam-se e as cabeças pendidas observavam incrédulas Filipe estendido no chão, gemendo de dores, sem entenderem o que se tinha passado... --- Sonhava! Dizia ele tentando erguer-se timidamente do chão. --- Está magoado? Logo perguntou Elisa, ajudando. Do outro lado Soraya começava de rir à gargalhada, enquanto Isaura olhava admirada e dizia encolhendo os ombros, -- acontece..!
