The only person you can ever save is yourself.
And the only person who can save yourself is you.
But it sometimes feels like you can't do that. It indeed feels like it's not even worth it to try and make your life better (or just less bad).
It's so confusing and overwhelming that you don't even know where to start or how to go about it.
There's this conflict between wanting to be fulfilled in life but feeling like there's actually no hope things are going to get better. You want to make a change but you are afraid it's not going to work out. And then there's the creepy feeling that you are wasting your life and that you are a hopeless case.
You know you need to get your act together. Get your life together. And pull yourself together. But is that even possible? Is there such a thing?
You have tried before and failed. You started again and failed again. And now you know that starting again is harder than starting, so why bother?
Well, I wish I could tell you that you can conquer all this like a badass giant and enjoy a fulfilling life forever. Or that there's a 'secret' to be this badass giant!
But all I have to tell you is plain and simple. Certain mentalities will help you become stronger and better. Mentalities that are based on real wisdom and solid principle. I am talking about basic things such as: responsibility, feedback loops, connection, courage, and mental toughness.
Those are the things that can spiral you upward one step at a time and make your life less bad and a little bit better. Give it enough time and you will find yourself in a totally different place. A place where you can actually say you have saved yourself.
This I promise you. A less bad life that has the potential of becoming a better life one day at a time. I believe this is a more honest promise than books that promise grand, immediate changes. And maybe the big changes are just fundamentally built on how those mentalities manifest themselves in your life.
