About the Book

HIS SKILL AT NEUTRALIZING EVIL SCHEMES IS LEGENDARY
A three-thousand-year-old scroll containing secrets of human observation and lie detection has been discovered in the Holy Land. Daniel Jacobson was trained in these secrets where he put them to use as an Israeli Intelligence operative and then as an anti-terrorist/crime investigator for the world's most secure airline. During his watch there were 312 attempts by people wanting to fly into Israel to commit terrorism or another crime. He exposed and neutralized all 312. No would-be perpetrator ever stepped foot on an Israeli plane.

Daniel's skills were a force to be reckoned with by anyone looking for trouble. Years later as he surprisingly begins a vocation as a priest in the Catholic Church, he discovers that trouble doesn't look for him; it always knows where he is!

AN OBVIOUS MURDER SUSPECT AND AN OUTRAGED TOWN
Who murdered Martha Prescott and her sister Carolyn Trent? Dozens of people in the rural California town of Tres Pinos are certain that a borderline mentally retarded man named Luke Price did and they are willing to be his judge, jury and executioner! The isolated county sheriff deputies may not be able to keep the enraged lynch mob from taking the law into its own hands. Do they want to?

Fr. Daniel is the only one who believes Luke is innocent and his unique abilities are all that stand between a town bent on hate and stringing a hangman's noose around the neck of Martha and Carolyn's accused killer. Can Fr. Daniel find the real killer before it is too late?

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL . . .
As if the situation weren't mortally pressing enough, Fr. Daniel finds himself drawn into the middle of still another powder keg which is ready to blow as federal agents work hard to keep a key witness alive from a powerful criminal organization that spares no resource or expense in ending the witness's life and anyone who stands in its way. In this scenario where the fastest gun may determine the winner, what can a solitary priest do?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Ephrain Tristan Ortiz is a Dr. of Christian Education, Biblical Hebrew teacher and 6th degree Black Belt who has been a mystery fan since he got a Sherlock Holmes book at age 10. He discovered a love for story telling back then, something he used to help time pass by faster for himself and his Catholic school classmates for eight years. He noticed that people enjoyed his stories the most when they were action-packed, creepy, funny and inspiring while maintaining an attitude of respect and clean fun. Decades later, his stories still contain these characteristics and always will.
