About the Book

The Death And Anti-Death Series By Ria University Press discusses issues and controversies related to death, life extension, and anti-death. A variety of different/ differing points of view are presented and argued. Death And Anti-Death, Volume 16: Two Hundred Years After Frankenstein is edited by Charles Tandy, Ph.D.: ISBN 978-1-934297-29-2 is the Hardback edition and ISBN 978-1-934297-30-8 is the Softback edition. (It is available from most retail bookstores and all Espresso Book Machines.) (It is distributed by Ingram: Ingram is the world's largest book distribution network.)

Volume 16 is in honor of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley (1797-1851). The chapters do not necessarily mention Frankenstein or Mary Shelley (but some chapters do). The chapters (by professional philosophers and other professional scholars) are directed to issues related to death, life extension, and anti-death, broadly construed. Most of the contributions consist of scholarship unique to this volume. As was the case with all previous volumes in the Death And Anti-Death Series By Ria University Press, the anthology includes an Index as well as an Abstracts section that serves as an extended table of contents. (Total of 378 pages.)

Volume 16 includes fourteen chapters, as follows: ------CHAPTER ONE: Digital Afterlives: From Social Media Platforms To Thanabots And Beyond (by Debra Bassett) Pages 27-38.------CHAPTER TWO: The Case For Brain Preservation And An Examination Of Why The Frankenstein Argument Fails (by Michael Cerullo) Pages 39-58.------CHAPTER THREE: Frankenstein, Bioethics, and Technological Irreversibility (by Shane Denson) Pages 59-108.------CHAPTER FOUR: An Unholy Trinity: Creationism In Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (by Brian N. Duchaney) Pages 109-124.------CHAPTER FIVE: "With What Interest And Sympathy Shall I Read It In Some Future Day" Scientific Immortality In Frankenstein (by Allison B. Kavey) Pages 125-150.------CHAPTER SIX: The Spiritual, Symbolic, And Technological Rebellion Against Death (by Uri Lifshin and Jeff Greenberg) Pages 151-182.------CHAPTER SEVEN: Contrastive Underdetermination Resolution, With Application To Cryonics Revival And Other Possibilities For Life After Clinical Death (by R. Michael Perry) Pages 183-210.------CHAPTER EIGHT: Turing Church: Hacking Religion, Enlightening Science, Awakening Technology (by Giulio Prisco) Pages 211-234.------CHAPTER NINE: Aging As Disease (by Stefan Lorenz Sorgner) Pages 235-252.------CHAPTER TEN: Shall We Row The Boats Ashore? (by Charles Tandy) Pages 253-264.------CHAPTER ELEVEN: Personal Identity, Criminal Responsibly, And Frankenstein (by Mark Walker) Pages 265-280.------CHAPTER TWELVE: Human Body Ecological Recovery And Stem Cells Aided Regeneration For The Attainment Of Longevity And Vitality (by Sinclair T.
