The Birdwatcher's Mysteries: Book Two
"You don't have to be a bird lover to fall in love with Christine Goff's charming Birdwatcher's Mysteries." Tony Hillerman
Lark Drummond's luxury hotel is packed with hundreds of convention-goers and her employees are adding to her stresses.
To make things worse, her friend and business partner, Esther Mills, has cancelled the hotel's coffee order and refuses to tell her why.
Needing a chance to recharge and regroup, Lark takes a few hours off to go birdwatching with her friend, Rachel Stanhope.
But things go quickly from bad to worse when Lark peers through her scope and witnesses Esther's murder.
The police assert that it was a robbery gone wrong, but Lark is convinced her partner's death has something to do with her business affairs.
When Esther dies, Lark inherits the coffee company, and soon discovers she may now be a target of the killer.
With the help of their birdwatching club, Lark and Rachel set out to unravel the clues.
But as suspects and motives pile up, it soon becomes clear that what they thought was a robbery gone wrong was, in fact, something much more sinister.
