In September of 2003, California writer/producer Dawn Willson accompanied her British husband to Spain for, what she thought, was a two-month vacation. As they were returning to California, eight months later, her husband abducted their two-year-old daughter instead of boarding a plane to the US. Dawn returned to Spain to get her daughter only to become hostages of her British husband, his mother, the Spanish court, the U.S. State Department and the careless impotence of the Santa Barbara Family court. After 4 months, as Dawn was about to obtain custody and be allowed to leave Spain, her husband then attempted to kill her. It wasn't until he threw them onto the streets of Spain a week later, barefoot and in their pajamas, that the US Embassy finally stepped in flying Dawn and Rocky to America and safety - only to do a complete turnaround and accuse Dawn of kidnapping. Spain threw out jurisdiction but despite this and the domestic violence, the US court then denied the mother and child sanctuary jurisdiction and ordered Rocky return to Spain in the custody of her father! Dawn then lost complete contact with her daughter for over two and a half years. Unwilling to give up, Dawn fought for her daughter in three courts and two countries and suffered the repeated kidnapping of her child for every visitation. She became the first foreigner ever to get a Mediterranean country to enforce their own court orders and was finally reunited with her daughter in 2008. However, it was only a half-win, as her husband retains custody Dawn and Rocky still suffer at the hands of his abuse and his fists; the impotent U.S. courts, law enforcement, Social Services and the U.S. State Department - who have prevented a criminal investigation and criminal charges against her ex-husband for the kidnapping, perjury, fraud, forgery, domestic violence, violation of parental rights, economic abuse and more. The system have turned their backs on the rights and protection of Dawn and Rocky, but they turn it every day on many other parents and children in high conflict custody battles. Since the proper institutions of accountability have failed them, Dawn now only has one rock left to hurl at this Goliath - the content in this groundbreaking book.
