About the Book

Differentiated book- It has a historical context with research of the timeThe book is the narration by David, from his birth to his death, and from those around him, for better or worse. He begins the day he was born, helped to come into the world by Dr. Chillip, when his father had already passed away. Clara was her mother's name, and her babysitter's name too, although this is called in the whole story by her family name Pegotty. Betsy Trotwood is the aunt of Copperfield's father, and she visits Clara on the day David is born, hoping to help her raise the baby if she is a girl, however, she leaves disappointed to see that he is a boy.Clara remarries when Copperfield is about seven years old, with Mr. Murdstone, a severe guy whose occupation in life seems to be marrying young women with money, and then imposing his severe regime on him, which had sad consequences for Copperfield and his mother. While his mother's wedding and honeymoon is taking place, David is sent to Yarmouth, to live a season with Pegotty's family, humble fishermen who live in a boat. There David meets his first childhood love: Emily.Clara is unhappy in her life, not only because of the Murdstone regime, but this is reinforced by his sister, who moves to live with them to help her run the house, although in reality she takes all the powers of direction, reducing Clara to a simple tenant without voice or vote. This situation deteriorates the health of Clara, who on David's return during the winter, has had a baby. Back at school, David receives the news of his mother's death, followed by that of his newborn son.David has been abandoned to his fate since then, he no longer returns to school and to get rid of him, he is sent to work at a business of which Murdstone is a partner. He is housed near his work by the Micawber family, whose economic penalties David shares for some time. After Clara's death, Pegotty agrees to marry coachman Barkis, since this marriage gives her advantages to stay close to David. On one occasion, David decides that life is not what his mother would want for him or what he wants, so he escapes in search of his great-aunt Betsy Trotwood, in a pitiful journey that ends at his aunt's house, to whom Ask for shelter. Initially Mrs. Trotwood does not know what to do, so she calls the Murdstone brothers, whom she faces in her decision to take care of the child's future.A new life begins for Copperfield, who is sent to a new school and placed in the care of Mr. Wickfield, who has a daughter named Agnes, and under the direction of Dr. Strong, school principal and husband of a very young Mrs. Strong. The school ends, to the satisfaction of Betsy, who places Trotwood, as he has renamed David, as a trainee's apprentice, a position where he meets the daughter of his employer, Dora Spenlow, who he falls in love with. She marries Dora, but shortly after she is sick, and realizes that it was a mistake to marry David.David realizes that he was always in love with Agnes and it is with her who he wants to be with. They get married, and David leaves the legal profession to be a writer.
