Schulpolitik, Note: 1,7, Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In einer demokratischen Gesellschaft wie in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland ist das Prinzip der Chancengleichheit eine wesentliche Grundlage. So legt der Artikel 3 im Grundgesetz fest, dass "niemand wegen seines Geschlechtes, seiner Abstammung, seiner Rasse, seiner Sprache, seiner Heimat und Herkunft, seines Glaubens, seiner religiösen oder politischen Anschauungen benachteiligt oder bevorzugt werden (darf)." Dieses Prinzip verfolgt auch die Bildungspolitik. Im Artikel 10 der Verfassung von Nordrhein-Westfalen steht beispielweise, dass "für die Aufnahme in eine Schule Anlage und Neigung des Kindes maßgebend (sind), nicht die wirtschaftliche Lage und die gesellschaftliche Stellung der Eltern." Das deutsche Bildungssystem spielt daher eine wesentliche Rolle in der heutigen Gesellschaft. So wurden in der Bundesrepublik im Jahr 2011 etwa 106 Milliarden Euro für das Bildungswesen ausgegeben. Im Schuljahr 2010/11 besuchten ca. 11,5 Millionen Schüler die allgemein bildenden sowie die berufsbildenden Schulen in Deutschland. Diese Schüler werden von rund 800.000 Lehrern unterrichtet. In keiner Institution verbringen Kinder und Jugendliche mehr Zeit als in der Schule: bis zum Mittleren Bildungsabschluss sind es durchschnittlich 10.000 Stunden. Das Bildungssystem dient in unserer heutigen Gesellschaft vor allem zur sogenannten Allokation, d.h. zur Zuordnung einer begrenzten Anzahl von Arbeitsplätzen. Durch das Prinzip der Chancengleichheit soll jeder Schüler die Möglichkeit bekommen, aufgrund seiner Anlagen und Leistungen einen der knappen Plätze auf dem Arbeitsmarkt zu erhalten. Denn die Berufswahl sichert später nicht nur den Lebensunterhalt, sondern der Beruf teilt gleichzeitig die Menschen in soziale Klassen in der Leistungsgesellschaft ein.
