Die hier vorgelegten Ergebnisse eines Forschungsprojektes zu Fragen der Unter- richtsmethoden sollen zur Erhellung eines zentralen unterrichtstheoretischen und -praktischen Problembereichs beitragen, der nach unserer Ansicht bislang nicht den Stellenwert im erziehungswissenschaftliehen Forschungsbetrieb einnahm, den er auf- grund seiner Bedeutung für Lehrende und Lernende haben müßte: In dieser Untersu- chung haben wir versucht, normative Didaktik und normative Aussagen über Unter- richtsmethoden ein wenig zurückzudrängen, damit es möglich wird, über die konstitu- tiven Elemente alltäglichen unterrichtsmethodischen Handeins genauer und das heißt hier, mit erfahrungswissenschaftliehen Methoden zu verhandeln. Der Versuch, mit Mitteln der Emp1rie die Alltagspraxis von Lehrern hinsichtlich der methodischen Gestaltung des Unterrichts zu untersuchen, bringt einige Probleme mit sich. Anders als in Untersuchungen, die darauf aus sind, theoretische Konstrukte einer empirischen Bewährungsprobe zu unterziehen, muß die Analyse hier relativ, theorie- fern' angelegt sein. Das bedeutet, daß man den untersuchten Unterricht möglichst facettenreich zu beschreiben hat. Das wiederum hat zur Folge, daß die anschließende Darstellung der Ergebnisse einer solchen Untersuchung relativ komplex ist, damit die Komplexität des unterrichtlichen Geschehens bei der Analyse erhalten bleibt. Eine theoriegeleitete Reduktion kann deshalb nicht forciert werden, weil es an den theore- tischen Begründungen dafür fehlt. Unsere Interpretationen können sich deshalb auch nicht auf eine explizite Unterrichtstheorie beziehen. Bei der von uns gewählten Vor- gehensweise kann eine- Reduktion, eine Akzentuierung der Ergebnisse erst erfolgen, wenn die Strukturen und Tendenzen der Daten vorliegen.
