Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2011 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Erwachsenenbildung, Note: 1,3, Universität Augsburg (Lehrstuhl für Pädagogik mit Berücksichtigung der Erwachsenenbildung und außerschulischen Jugendbildung), Veranstaltung: Die Suche nach dem Ich, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Viele Identitätstheoretiker prägten die Pädagogik mit ihren Werken und persönlichen Einflüssen enorm. George Herbert Mead war ein äußerst engagierter und intelligenter Mann. Pragmatiker bezogen auf die Philosophie, Sozialpsychologe bezogen auf die Wissenschaft, wird er als "Kronzeuge für gegensätzliche Positionen im sozialwissenschaftlichen Diskurs herangezogen ..." (Baumgart 2008, S. 119). Tätig war Mead zuerst an der Universität Michigan, wo er mit John Dewey zusammentraf. Aus der Begegnung beider Wissenschaftler und Philosophen entwickelte sich eine tiefe Freundschaft, die Mead sogar soweit prägte, dass er, als Dewey nach Chicago berufen wurde, ihm folgte und dort bis zu seinem Tode 1931 lehrte und die Professor für Philosophie und Sozialpsychologie an der Universität innehatte. Mead "legte seinen Standpunkt und die Ergebnisse seiner Forschungen nie in systematischer Form dar" (Mead 1969, S. 9). Das Werk Geist, Identität und Gesellschaft: Aus der Sicht des Sozialbehaviorismus stellt sich der Aufgabe der Strukturierung durch Studentenmitschriften, unveröffentlichten Skripten Meads und anderen Aufzeichnungen. Es stellt in meiner Arbeit demnach die Hauptliteratur dar. Doch was verstand Mead nun unter Identität? Wie ist der Titel meiner Arbeit richtig zu interpretieren? Diese Arbeit umfasst Meads Auffassung von der Identitätsbildung und deren Komponenten, also Sprache und Gesten, das "impulsive Ich" und das "reflektierte Ich", sowie Spiel, Wett-kampf und der (das) verallgemeinerte Andere. Da ich mich bereits in mehreren Referaten intensiv mit Mead auseinandergesetzt habe und er mich als Persönlichkeit stark fasziniert, wählte ich das Thema gezielt aus.
