After moving to the United States to pursue her education, Anna's future seems filled with promise and joy. She'd made excellent grades, earned her master's degree in engineering, and quickly climbed the ladder at a California firm.
When Anna meets Jason, she thinks she's found the perfect man to share her hopes and dreams with. The two fall in love, get married, and begin their life together. But unfortunately for this couple, a fairy-tale ending is nowhere to be found.
It begins slowly, with small cracks revealing underlying anger, small moments of backhanded insults and abuse. But soon, a manipulative and violent nature begins to show itself. And it's clear Jason is driven by a toxic obsession to fulfill his own needs-to the detriment of anyone and everyone else.
A Dark Journey is the true story of the nightmare that brewed behind the closed doors of Anna's marriage for four long years as she is held back by manipulation, pathological lies, and the cultural restrictions of her Lebanese upbringing.
Giving a voice to survivors everywhere, this inspirational true story shows how one woman finds the courage within herself to emerge from one of life's most harrowing situations.
