About the Book

Daniel studied Text by Text and word to word (Revised, increased and corrected), is a titanesk work. It brings to us a revelation of the events unfolding around us.Why is the Lord revealing to his servants all these details in advance of wars involving kingdoms competing for supremacy in this part of the world? ''The reason is simple: "These wars affect the people of God. The Lord foretells in advance the many challenges that His people will face in the years to come. Furthermore, God is the Lord of history. As we compare the prophetic record to historical events, we again see that the prophetic word is fulfilled as predicted. The God who foretells the vicissitudes of these clashing Hellenist kingdoms is the God who knows the future. He is worthy of our trust and our faith. He is the God of gods and Lord of lords, not an image devised by human imagination. Not only does he direct the course of history, he can also direct our lives, if we let him do so (Isaiah 46: 9,10). We have the testimony of Christ and his apostles on the book of Daniel, which proves authenticity and shows us his authority. The important testimony of the prophet Ezekiel on Noah, Daniel and Job (14:14, 20; 28: 3), is there to tell us the role that Daniel played as the ambassador of the true God in the land of Babylon and, the place that this propetic book must occupy in our preaching.Daniel, furthermore, chapter by chapter, gives us a revelation of Jesus Christ in Bible prophecy:1.Da. 1: 1. Daniel chapter 1 shows that although imperfectly, Daniel's experience is analogous to that of Christ. Christ left heaven to come and live in this world of sin and face the powers of darkness, for our salvation. Daniel and his three companions were torn from their country and taken to Babylon to live in a hostile world in order to know to all that the true God is in heaven.2.Da. 1:10. Daniel and his companions received Christlike wisdom from heaven to deal with Babylonian culture.3.Da.2: 44,45. This passage describes the figure of the eschatological stone to indicate that the kingdom of Jesus Christ will eventually replace all the kingdoms of the world.4.Da 3:24, 25. This experience reveals to us Christ walking with his faithful children in a blazing furnace (of fire). The prophet Isaiah made the same promise to us (Isaiah 43: 2).5.Da 4:26. God withdraws his kingdom from Nebuchadnezzar so that the king understands that the heavens rule over the reign of men. The verb 'dominate' reminds everyone that the Son of man, when the time comes, must receive the kingdom in order to reign eternally with his people (Da.7: 13).6.Da.5: 25, 26. The fall of Belshazzar and that of Babylon, for the benefit of the Persians, on a night of celebration, testifies to the fact that biblical prophecy will not lie (2Pi.1: 19-21) . It is the announcement of the defeat of Satan, the devil and the eradication of eschatological Babylon by Christ and his angels in the great day of the Parousia (Matt. 25:41).7.Da.6: 1-3. The spirit of Christ, a superior spirit found in the life of Daniel. The plot against Daniel is similar to the false accusations made by religious leaders and Jewish priests against Jesus. In addition, like King Darius who tried unsuccessfully to spare Daniel's life, Pilate too attempted to spare Jesus from the torture of the cross (Matt. 27: 17-24).8.Da.7: 13, 14. Daniel 7 portrays Christ as the Son of man who receives the kingdom from the hands of his Father to reign eternally with his people.9.Da.8: 9-13. Christ is the high priest of the heavenly sanctuary. After so many human struggles, as the leader of the Heavenly Army, he will annihilate all his enemies and restore peace forever.10.Da.9: 27. Christ, in this chapter, is the sacrificial victim whose death again confirms the covenant between God and his universal people. The wall of separation between Jews and Gentiles (the sacrifices and the offerings for sins, having been removed, etc.
