Dane Bolt
A western-esque drama, filled with trials and tribulations
Dane Bolt was a Jack of all trades, and master of none. He is out looking for work, and a fresh start in the small outback town, of Alice Springs.
Bolt, stood scanning the general store's community billboard's, measly offerings.
No, he didn't want piano lessons, and no he didn't want a dog, and no he hadn't found a dog either.
Then one poster caught his eye, it was written thickly in black ink, on a sheet of brown butcher's paper, and it read; Driver Wanted, Phone Cedrick Weldon, Ph 142, Weldon Trucking, No bludgers need apply. Bolt ripped the poster from off the notice board...
Dane Bolt is a journey into road-train driving, and is set in the 1960s, landscape of the Northern Territory, of Australia. Back when the main Stuart Highway was no more than a narrow strip of sealed bitumen road, built courtesy of the second world war, and the Australian Federal Government at the time, who deemed the single strip of tarred road necessary to expedite the movement of Australian troops, and equipment between the Alice Springs, railhead in the South, to the Port of Darwin in the North.
