About the Book

This book is focused on cyber security danger for the Gulf Cooperation Council's six countries including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Oman. A case on Qatar and cyber security is elaborated. The book also discusses nations cyber wars, and gives examples of many of the cyber attacks not only on nations, but also on corporations in many countries around the globe. It also discusses corporate vulnerabilities to cyber attacks not only in advanced countries but also developing countries such as the Gulf Cooperation Council's countries. The book reveals the different hacking threats and role of CIO/IT managers with regards to cyber security It also discusses GCC (Gulf Nations) approach to cyber security, and what types of policies they have. It also proposes a new cyber security approach for the GCC countries using existing models in other advanced countries. Finally, it presents a roadmap for cyber security for protecting national vital infrastructures for Qatar and GCC countries, and proposes how to set up the military-style command and control cyber security center for such nations.
About the Author: Dr. Mohammed Al-Dorani was born in the year 1954 in the geographical area of Doha, Qatar. At the time of his earliest years, Qatar was a nation that few knew of. But as the ability of the extraction techniques and knowhow of developing the areas international oil and gas sector, were able to be accessed through those certain nations, the gulf nations were given an opportunity. And in that time frame, there was given to the population of the gulf region an appreciation to uplift itself, through their connection to those regions of certain other ability. Dr. Mohammed Al-Dorani came from a strong family, whose history of that of his father and mother were of that history of the 30's of the Gulf area of Arabia. As the young Mohammed knew that his strongest desire, was to achieve the highest level possible in terms of his education. He through his strong will and determination achieved his Masters degree, as well as his Ph.D degree by the age of thirty. Dr. Mohammed Al-Dorani graduated from the George Washington Graduate School of Business with special emphasis in technology. The subject of his doctorate thesis was on developing a central information system data base for the Six Gulf Countries. After Dr. Mohammed Al-Dorani attained his Ph.D., he was appointed by his government of Qatar, to represent that nation at the Gulf Cooperation Council located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Mohammed Al-Dorani served as "The Director of Post, Telegraph, and Telecommunication" for the Six Gulf Nations, remaining in his work there for eight years. While having a full time job at the GCC, he taught senior courses at the Computer Science College at King Saud University in Riyadh, in addition he consulted Sabic and Al-yamama publishing on computing and networking systems. Dr. Mohammed is married to his American wife, Mrs. Gloria Karen Byers Al-Dorani and has two daughters, Leila and Sarah. After serving his government through Qatar's Ministry of Finance and the Gulf Cooperation Council, he left Qatar and became the Acting CEO for the Iridium project of the Middle East sector. The project was a multi-billion dollar global effort, that was centered through the Motorola company and involved the participation of over one hundred. Dr. Al-Dorani also managed as a General Manager and for 10 years Abdulla Abdulghani & Bro, company.
