About the Book

Why do fairy tales usually begin, "Once upon a time, in a strange and far away land"?Could it have been twice upon a time? Why is the land so strange, anyway? And doesn't anything ever happen around here? Why is there always one good fairy available to undo a wicked witch's curse of a baby princess? Is that something the Good Fairies' Local Union put into the collective bargaining agreement?Who is the Wicked Witch, anyway? Why is she always cursing? And what can be done about it?
About the Author: Although Bill Kincaid spent over 35 years practicing law in Texas, he started out as a writer and journalist. He was Sports Editor and Political Editor for his high school paper, Managing Editor and Editor of his university newspaper, and worked for several Texas newspapers before earning his doctor of jurisprudence degree from Texas Tech University's School of Law. Several of his articles and columns received state-wide honors. Now that Kincaid is slowing down his legal practice, he finally has time to return to his writing roots, publishing two books in 2013 that are almost as different from each other as day is from night. Nicodemus' Quest is a Christian historical fiction novel that makes as much use of Kincaid's ability to do detailed research as it does of his ability to tell a good story. The Baptist Standard called the book "a compelling, inventive, moving novel . . . a great story" and said that "extensive biblical, historical, geographical, archeological, and linguistic research exudes from each page." On the other hand, Ronald Raygun and the Sweeping Beauty is a fractured fairy tale that satirizes such well known stories as Sleeping Beauty, The Princess and the Pea, and Cinderella. What makes the story even more fun is the humor that is woven throughout, not to mention various political references that permeate the work. Some are obvious, but most are extremely subtle and unobtrusive. Kincaid is continuing to write on varied topics. In 2014, he published Saul's Quest, a Christian historical fiction novel about the Apostle Paul's life through his first missionary journey, and he is finishing Wizard's Quest, his first science fiction fantasy. He is also conducting research for a second book about Paul's life that will continue the story told in Saul's Quest. He and his wife, Audette, have been married for more than 40 years and have three adult children, Cheryl-Annette, Christina, and Sharlene.
