About the Author: Dr. Dallas L. Browne graduated with a bachelor's degree in sociology and education from Northeastern Illinois University before going on to earn his master's degree in cultural anthropology and linguistics, as well as his doctorate in cultural anthropology and geography, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Having taught anthropology at various colleges and universities throughout the country, Browne is also a member of the World Affairs Council, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the American Committees on Foreign Relations. He has formerly served as chair of the anthropology department at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, president of the St. Louis Council on Foreign Relations, chancellor of the Consular Corps College and Academy, and president of the St. Louis Consular Corps.
Appointed the Tanzanian Honorary Consul for Tanzania in St. Louis and Chicago in 2000, Browne currently serves on numerous boards of directors.
