An intriguing love story that is based upon actual locations and people that spans the lifetime of two very different people. The story unfolds as Virginia lives with her parents on a small ranch in the foothills of Craig, Colorado. Then, tragically, she loses her mother suddenly and grows through her adolescent years into young adulthood as raised by her loving father. Everything meshes together to meld Virginia into an unusually strong and determined woman. She is driven, in college, to excel with her social life on hold as she doggedly wades through her studies, library, internships, lectures, classes until she graduates with a 4.0 BA and double MBA. Landing an executive position with a prestigious international firm. The story begins in Texas and ends in Craig, Colorado, where the winters are unusually beautiful with the passes and valleys cloaked in ice and snow such that the view exudes "Crystal" like qualities. Desperation was a driving force for Jimmy as he struggles mightily against all odds. His only option was the military and Jimmy traveled the world carousing and wandering his life away until he became aware that there was more to life than what he had. Midway through his military enlistment Jimmy began striving for better. Taking all the college classes he could he obtained his 2 year degree by discharge time and then continued on to finally earn his International Law degree with a 3.64 gpa. Luck was on his side as his maturity earned him a position with a very prestigious international firm in charge of their international legal affairs. It was a few years later then that Virginia was hired and eventually promoted to Jimmy's boss. It was to be Virginia's dedication to work that brought her in contact with Jimmy as Virginia's office hours were from 8am to 5 pm, however she often worked until late in the night because she had doggedly avoided the social life and dreaded messiness she so often saw others become embroiled in. Jimmy, on the other hand, changed his hours so he worked night hours in order to be more compatible with the office hours of the international clients he worked with. Virginia's attention was caught one evening by lights going on in the office building adjacent to hers and since she was in charge of that group too she demanded to know who was turning lights on late at night. Mutual attraction blossomed into love finally and Jimmy passed with flying colors, Virginia took him to meet her Father. It was on this trip to Craig, Colorado that Jimmy was exposed to the spectacular beauty of the icy and snowy "Crystal Valley" and fell in love with it. Subsequently Virginia and Jimmy planned marriage and retirement only to find themselves involved in an alternative relationship with the company which allowed freedom to live in Craig, Colorado and began raising their family. Then tragedy struck with unexpected viciousness when Jimmy's helicopter crashed and he barely survived. Throughout Jimmy's recovery Virginia's love, and love of his two children, carried him back to health and the decision to retire and raise their children together in the "Crystal Valley" Two people from very different backgrounds arrived at the same destination through dogged determination to sacrifice all to become successful in life.
