About the Book

Cry Out My Soul, Thoughts and Meditations Book II is a compilation of poems and short stories that encapsulates literary forms of many genres and transcending and expanding into a varied art form, reaching back to the Elizabethan era and also embracing many more modern cultures, making it an all-inclusive choice for lovers of fine literature from all ages and, for every generation, wherever there is an appreciation for the poetic art form. It is the author's wish and hope that everyone who is exposed to this work will fall in love with many of the pieces contained therein. Many of the poems are written with rhyme, rhythm and meter, and are designed to be easily set to music both sacred and secular. However, while the love of poetry is a major mechanism within the sphere of life of the author, it the sonnet art forms that fuel, sustain and drives the engine of his unquenchable love for poetry. It is his sincere wish and hope that the reader will have as much pleasure in reading these lines as he has had in writing them.
About the Author: Rev Dr. John S. Weekes, is the author of several books, which include a trilogy of books on theology, Understanding Forgiveness, Understanding the Doctrine of the Trinity and Understanding the Existence of God. Dr. Weekes is also the author of Escape or Perish - The Rapture, an allegorical and futuristic novel about the end times. Other works by Dr. Weekes as Prince John Chaber are War of the Worlds, a pre-historical novel, and Cry Out My Soul, Thoughts and Medications. Dr. Weekes is a native of the Island of Montserrat, West Indies, and from his earliest years was an avid reader with a love for poetry, and by the age of ten he wrote his first poem, "The Bird and her Nest," included in the present volume; but while he was reading for the Bar, Dr. Weekes spent his leisure moments giving expression to his inner love for the sonnet form, especially the Elizabethan. He was called to the Bar of The Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn in 1996; and after practicing as a Barrister on the Island of Montserrat, Dr. Weekes responded to the call of God on his life and entered United Bible College and Theological Seminary in the United States, and obtained in the year 1996, the Master of Theology degree, and in the year 2000 the Doctor of Theology. Thereafter Dr. Weekes remained at the Seminary as a Professor of Theology and his continued thirst for education resulted in his obtaining the further degree of Doctor of Religious Education. Cry out My Soul-Thoughts and Meditations comprised all of Dr. Weekes' earliest writings, the sonnets and short stories, but since then he has compiled a number of other philosophical and other poems, verses and songs both sacred and secular, being now published under the title, Cry Out My Soul - Second Edition.
