Creative Journey through Art: Book Two - Adults Only Colouring Book is an adults-oriented coloring book filled with four colour pages and over forty illustrations for you to color and enhance.
The therapeutic act of sketching and coloring offers a timeless means of escape from everyday pressures.
Inspired by the fine art of author and artist Margaret Lynn Atkinson, these simple yet expressive line drawings come from a place deep inside of her and have a unique life all of their own.
Influenced by artists like George Grosz, Otto Dix, and Pablo Picasso who often explored the seedier and more macabre sides of life, these provocative, sublime, and surreal works of art are not all suitable for young children but will enable you to return to a childhood space free from worry as you add your own color and texture. And by providing a few cropped vignettes for you to finish, this unique book also provides a creative tool for people who have never had the confidence to draw on their own before.
For anyone who wants to unwind from today's fast-paced world and reconnect with their imaginative selves, this challenging and thoughtful resource promotes both stress release and inner healing.
About the Author: Margaret Lynn Atkinson grew up in Lancashire, England, sticking paper flowers on glasses and drawing faces in her schoolbooks while dreaming of one day becoming a great painter and opera singer. While she didn't go directly into a formal arts education, she spent time in America learning the time-honored traditions of quilting and rug making as well as engaging in painting and drawing.
Returning to London, she became involved in theater and singing with the Beaufort Opera Group in Fulham, the Massenet Society, and several choirs in and around London.
She received a BA in fine art from Chelsea College of Art & Design in London and has continued to show her work since graduation.
In 2011 she founded the Brixton Village Art Trail which featured the work of over eighty artists.
