Thomas has always been a thrill seeker. Once he's old enough to leave his family's farm, he moves to Los Angeles, pursuing his dream of performing film stunts. He has a great time in California, but getting paid to be an adrenaline junkie proves to be very difficult. He realizes he has a deeper desire for his life: a stable career, a steady paycheck, and marriage.
So Thomas moves back to his hometown, and begins volunteering for a youth ministry called Young Life, which seems like a great opportunity to meet someone else involved in the ministry that he could potentially marry, but he's frustrated. With everything he has going for him-a stable job, a passion for ministry, and a fun-loving personality-why is finding a girlfriend so difficult?
Thomas doesn't have the answer. But he comes to realize that patience is important-and so is accepting that God's will for his life may not involve marriage. Thomas decides that he will follow God's plan regardless of whether it includes marriage or lifelong singlehood.
But then Thomas meets Larissa. She's beautiful, her enthusiastic personality is compatible with his, and she loves God. But does she want only friendship-and if so, can Thomas accept this when he wants so much more?
