About the Book

Everyday in America, pro-life students are ending abortion. The young people of this generation have survived abortion and have dedicated their lives to ending the greatest human rights tragedy our world has ever known. Yet, their stories, which are real and messy, won't make the news headlines. However, they must be told. It will be their stories that inspire and encourage others to join with us to abolish abortion in our lifetime.
About the Author: Kristan was hired in 2006 to launch Students for Life of America's (SFLA) full-time operation. Since then, Kristan has helped more than triple the number of campus pro-life groups in the United States, to more than 700 in 49 states today. In addition, she helped grow the SFLA National Conference from 450 in 2007 to 2,000 in 2012, making the event the largest pro-life conference in the nation. As President, Kristan directs the mission and strategy of Students for Life. She has appeared on Fox News, CNN, EWTN, Family Talk with Dr. James Dobson and the Christian Broadcasting Network. She is a frequent blogger for LifeNews.com and has also been quoted in national and regional newspapers such as the Washington Times, Washington Post, FoxNews.com. A dynamic speaker, Kristan travels the nation talking to adults and students on a wide range of topics including Planned Parenthood, Feminism, Social Justice, and Pro-Life Leadership. Kristan is also known for her work leading the Stop the Abortion Mandate Coalition in 2009, which brought together over 70 pro-life and pro-family leaders in a national coalition dedicated to stopping government funding of abortion. In addition, she launched HealthcareforGunner.com, a website and coalition dedicated to her son Gunner who suffers from cystic fibrosis, to raise the issue of healthcare rationing in government healthcare systems. In addition to launching SFLA's nationwide Field Program, Kristan and her team have launched Med Students for Life and Pregnant on Campus, a transformative initiative which strives to connect young women in need on campus to those in the community. Kristan's pro-life mission began in high school when she was asked to volunteer at a Pregnancy Resource Center. After graduating as Valedictorian, Kristan went to Bethany Collage (WV) and started the first pro-life group on her campus. In 2005, she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Before coming to SFLA, Kristan worked for the 2004 Bush/Cheney re-election campaign, the Republican National Committee, and served as a political appointee in the George W. Bush administration at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. Since working at SFLA, Kristan has been awarded the Susan B. Anthony Young Leader Award, the Dr. William Hogan Education Award, the Weyrich Youth Leadership Award, and a 2010 Life Prize. Kristan resides in Manassas, Virginia with her husband, Jonathan, and 2 sons, Gunner and Bear.
