About the Author: María Eugenia Caseiro, Mariú. La Habana, Cuba. Poeta y narradora. Es Miembro de la Unión de Escritores y Artistas del Caribe, Unión Hispanoamericana de Escritores, Asociación Caribeña de de Estudios del Caribe, Miembro Correspondiente de la Academia de la Historia de Cuba-Exilio, Miembro Colaborador de la Academia Norteamericana de la Lengua Española (ANLE). Colabora con la Asociación Canadiense de Hispanistas. Integra la Muestra Permanente de Poesía Siglo XXI de la Asociación Prometeo y el Consejo Editorial de La Peregrina Magazín. Su poesía ha sido compilada en numerosas antologías alrededor del mundo. Ha oficiado como jurado en certámenes de poesía y narrativa, así como sus narraciones y poemas han sido traducidos a diversas lenguas que incluyen euskera, japonés, y árabe, entre otras. La muerte de la madre cuando apenas tenía 5 años, convierte a la abuela paterna en eje que da lugar a su personalidad. A ella y a su padre debe la inclinación por la lectura que convierte en práctica de la escritura a través de largos dictados a los que era sugerida por la abuela para ejercitar la buena ortografía. En 1965 obtiene Premio Provincial de Composición a la temprana edad de 11 años.
