About the Book

Hell has no fury as when you are on the receiving end of Jessica P. Whitewater's wrath. Jessica had had enough of his crap and lies. With her SUV packed and every nook and cranny filled, she bid goodbye to the big city and was off to start a new chapter in her life.

As she waited for the light to change to green, she looked over and saw the couple in the car next to her kissing. She began to entertain second thoughts of leaving, but when a familiar ringtone broke the silence, anger quickly replaced any guilt. It was because of him; she decided to make this life-changing decision. After listening to his voicemail, she shouted, "That Bastard!" He had the nerve to tell her to go to hell when it was him who had broken her heart by sleeping with that slut.

Without hesitation, Jessica P. Whitewater punched his speed dial number with vengeance, and no sooner had he answered that she unleashed a wrath of rage and fire the likes he had never experienced. By the time she finished and ended the call, she knew he was history and there was no going back. She blocked his number and deleted everything about him from her phone.

Alone and upset Jessica reached out to the only friend she had at this time, "Siri, how many miles to Durango, Colorado?"

After three days of driving Jessica climbed out of her SUV and smiled. She was excited to be in her new city to start over. Lacy, her best friend from college rushed out her front door screaming. "Yay, you made it." Seeing her friend, tears rushed down her cheeks as they hugged.

Soon after arriving, Jessica purchased a quant old farmhouse with visions of someday building an office in the small pasture, so she wouldn't have to meet her new clients at the local coffee shop. She established herself in the business community, and now had a respectable list of clients who needed her website building and programming skills.

Lacy tried to convince Jessica she needed some companionship and on a Sunday afternoon they paid a visit to the local shelter. Jessica never had a pet of her own, unless you count a bird she won at the fair one year. There was some apprehension inside until she saw a sad looking and rejected little fur baby. The moment he snuggled up to her on the other side of the kennel door she immediately fell in love. His name was Baron and now the man of the house.

Jessica was now at peace and happy to be single, living a life where she could be herself with no pretense. She didn't have to worry about anyone but herself and Baron. She no longer had to put up with their baggage and trying to control her life like Needles and a few others had done in the big city.

Little did Jessica P. Whitewater know that the new world she had created in Durango was short lived and would change forever the moment he came into her life. A simple act of kindness would turn her life forever into chaos. As she looked up at his big brown eyes her insides melted. At that moment she fell hard and in love. His name was Cornbread.
