About the Book

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

Writers tend to create a character of themselves and then try to resemble it. What is more important, the person or the character? Is the author the real person writing or an impostor? To what extent should the artist who creates, separate himself from his own person?

These and other questions ignite and define this book. It is a gallery of different types of writers who share the key to their creative universe, and traits that give life and shape their personalities. The book is also the story of the Ibero-America literary boom told from the inside: an intimate x-ray of a revolutionary moment in our cultural tradition. Spanning the last half century, an ideological itinerary and a creative landscape is created through the protagonists' testimonies.

These pages explore dialogue as a critical method, and discussion of ideas as a means to explore reality.

Creating contrasts and likenesses, Contrapuntos reveals a series of intellectual and existential paths that become the voices of a vast memory and a rich tradition that is now part of our identity and our collective consciousness.
