When Susan Vandenheuvel gave her life to Christ, she immediately immersed herself in Bible study and started attending church. But despite knowing in her head that she'd been forgiven and transformed, she couldn't let go of her regrets. She continued to live a life in bondage to self-destructive behaviors-even though she longed to be free, to be that new creation mentioned in scripture. Her insecurities kept her from knowing in her bones that she belonged to God.
But once she put her confidence in God rather than in fleshly pursuits and perspectives, she learned to walk in the truth of Isaiah 43:1: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine."
