Introduction
An important philosophical problem about our lives is
that of the final goal. We could find a lot of answers from
thearadical circles such as philosophy and religion, both in the
West and East. We also find that throughout the history of

have affirmed that the control of passions by the intellect is the
ultimate source of man's happiness It is; however, generally
accepted that the Westerners have tended to pay attention to the
objective world of the senses and what has followed is the
development of modam science and technology, whereas the
Easterners have engaged themselves with seeking the inner
world uf man resulting in knowledge by experience and
philosophical pursuits become a way of fifa
The large part of Indian Philosophy cannot, therefore, be
separated from religions, because both do have their final goal
as one and the same, Le. to make man reach his highest value
of life which is Sberation from the cycle of birth and death. It is
at vital importance to help man realize the fact that any
philosophical search is meaningful only if it helps man better his
ife and finally achieve the highest value in life. Moreover, a
close association between religion and philosophy demands that a
good life be lived through moral perfection.
