Discipline importante des sciences de gestion, aborder la stratégie d'entreprise n'en reste pas moins un exercice délicat, tant cette notion reste souvent flou dans les esprits. Il faut dire que c'est une discipline encore très jeune, apparue seulement au cours du XXème siècle. Si le terme même de stratégie n'est pas nouveau, il est resté associé à la terminologie guerrière ou plus récemment aux jeux, se confondant souvent d'ailleurs avec la notion de tactique . Quant à l'entreprise, son étude n'est guère plus récente. Cantonnée au rôle de boite noire par les économistes du XIXème siècle, ce n'est que depuis quelques décennies que les sciences de gestion s'y intéressent d'un peu plus près. Cet ouvrage se propose donc, de façon synthétique et structuré, de balayer l'ensemble de ce qu'on appelle la stratégie d'entreprise, depuis ses prémices jusqu'à son émergence récente au sein des firmes. En s'appuyant sur une large bibliographie, vous aborderez simplement l'ensemble des concepts (stratégie corporate, stratégie business, stratégie opérationnelle, décision, choix des structures, leadership...) jusqu'aux travaux les plus récents. Au passage, vous vous familiariserez avec le vocabulaire de la discipline. Mais, la stratégie d'entreprise ne serait abordée que de façon incomplète sans ses méthodes et outils d'analyse. Ceux-ci sont largement présentés et associés à des exemples. L'ensemble du cours est d'ailleurs illustré par de nombreux exemples tirés de l'histoire économique récente. Si l'ouvrage s'adresse d'abord aux étudiants désireux de découvrir la discipline ou de consolider leurs connaissances, il permettra aussi aux lecteurs curieux de démythifier le sujet et de mieux décrypter l'actualité économique.L'auteur, Bertrand Dufour, est ingénieur de formation, spécialisé dans le secteur industriel. Chef de projet, il est aussi diplômé d'économie et titulaire d'un MBA. Il est chargé de cours à Centrale-Supelec en gestion d'entreprise et chargé de TD en économie. Il intervient également en école de commerce sur le thème de la stratégie d'entreprise.
