About the Book
Connie Szerszen, legendary Chicago radio/TV personality, and America's 1st major market female "rock jock," shares her personal experiences, and those of others, as she explores coincidences. Have you noticed an unusual incident after a loved one passed away? But thought it was just a coincidence? Such incidents are much more than that. They are "comforts"-with which the Holy Spirit, with the help of His angels, blesses us to ease our mourning. The book also examines warnings in dreams and premonitions. It dismisses the idea of mere coincidences in everyday life and concludes that coincidences only happen with God's purpose. Supported by numerous Bible verses, and many in the religious community, as well as physicians and authors, coincidences are recognized as God's comforts. They are a part of the communion of saints-the connectivity of those on earth and those in heaven. So, for those in mourning or state of sadness, it might be helpful to become more aware of what may appear to be an odd coincidence, but is, indeed, a blessing from God. "BLESSED ARE THEY WHO MOURN, FOR THEY SHALL BE COMFORTED"
About the Author: Connie Szerszen, a native Chicagoan of Polish descent, was the first female "rock jock" in America to have her own prime time show in major market Chicago on AM radio for Westinghouse Broadcasting. She also became America's 1st female DJ to broadcast "live" on an all digital CBS radio station. Entered into the U.S. Congressional Record, the Chicago Sun-Times Midwest magazine cover story - Connie has been interviewed on CBS2 Chicago News, WGN Midday News, ABC7 Chicago News, guest hosted on NBC5 Chicago on TILMON'S TEMPO, with Jim Tilmon, meteorologist and airline pilot. Connie was considered for a daytime talk show on ABC7 Chicago which was later hosted by Oprah. Connie's first book, TOP ROCK GIRLY JOCK-A CHICAGO RADIO FIRST! relates her career struggles, meeting Elvis, The Beatles, dinner with Neil Diamond, parties with Elton John, Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac, and more. COMFORTS, BLESSED ARE THEY... is a spiritual book which aims to help those in need. Connie is also a portrait artist, having been featured in CRAIN'S CHICAGO BUSINESS, the DAILY HERALD, and WBBM Newsradio 780. Her works can be viewed at www.PortraitArtChicago.com - and publicly, at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital, Chicago, Holy Family Catholic Community, Inverness, IL, St. Luke's Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI. For fun-well, actually, there isn't much time left for fun-but as a SAG/AFTRA member, Connie enjoys voting for the Screen Actors Guild awards. She had a principal role in the PBS film, THE KILLING FLOOR, where she played an hysterical labor union worker. She also enjoys doing extra work-in the Andrew Davis film, ABOVE THE LAW, with Stephen Seagal, Connie can be seen as a nun in a hospital hallway comforting a little boy. Connie is most proud of her brother, Jerry Szerszen, who, as a project manager for Bally/Midway, helped anglicize the game by naming some of the characters-"Clyde" was a name he chose for the orange character, because he had just watched the movie "Bonnie and Clyde" and thought it was a good fit! Connie loves to travel-having visited the home of her grandparents in Poland, with side trips to Paris and London. In New York in the '70s, she was chosen for a feature in MADEMOISELLE magazine. http: //toprockgirlyjock.com/pressclippings.html (She's the girl in the middle in the bottom photo-"before" and "after" makeover photos) For more info on Connie Szerszen, visit www.TopRockGirlyJock.com, www.PortraitArtChicago.com and Wikipedia.
