El segundo volumen de estos Comentarios al Cantar de los Cantares está dedicado al análisis y la interpretación de tres versículos, en concreto, los que van del cuatro al seis del capítulo primero del Cantar. En plena continuidad con los principios teológicos y místicos del primer volumen, -Dios se hizo Hombre para que el hombre pudiera amar a Dios al modo humano-, pasa ahora el autor a sacar todo el fruto posible, para la vida espiritual y para la vida de la Iglesia, de su profunda descripción de lo que constituye la realidad del amar y estar enamorado. Temas tan importantes para el hombre de hoy como la Alegría, el sentido de la vida, la explicación de la muerte humana, el conocimiento de las causas del proceso histórico, así como las cuestiones actuales de las que tanto se ha hablado a raíz del Concilio Vaticano II, como la Teología de la Liberación, el ecumenismo, el falso y el verdadero feminismo, el matrimonio como sacramento y la gravedad del divorcio, la Teología Protestante y su infiltración en la Teología Católica, el problema de las vocaciones a la vida sacerdotal y consagrada, la promoción del laicado y la crisis de identidad del sacerdote entre otras, todas ellas adquieren su lógico entendimiento en esa maravillosa realidad del amor divino-humano. Es un análisis del mundo actual desde el punto de vista de la Revelación de Dios.


Dividido en tres partes, y cada parte en tres capítulos, el libro seduce desde el principio a la hora de profundizar en el versículo 4a del Cantar -"Llévame tras de ti; corramos."- Toda una doctrina profunda de lo que significa ser discípulo de Cristo es expuesta de modo claro y con abundante apoyo escriturístico para contrarrestar la grave crisis de ideales en la juventud moderna. A ello se dedica en los capítulos "Tras los pasos de Jesucristo", "Las prisas del amor" y "De nuevo tras las Huellas del Maestro" de la primera parte. Las explicaciones que A. Gálvez proporciona para desentrañar el misterio de la Alegría desde el Amor Divino adquieren una enjundia especial en la segunda parte, con los capítulos "Hacia la cámara del Rey", "Más sobre la Alegría Cristiana" y "De la Alegría perdida a la Alegría recobrada". Finalmente, los comentarios sobre uno de los versos del Cantar más difíciles de interpretar, a saber, "Soy morena, pero hermosa, hijas de Jerusalén", hacen que los tres capítulos finales de la tercera parte, "La esposa inmaculada", "La Soledad de la Esposa (Primera Parte)" y "La Soledad de la Esposa (Segunda Parte)" sean una obra antológica de la Teología Mística y Espiritual.


Con este volumen el autor termina su comentario al Cantar de los Cantares. Aunque sólo se ha detenido en los primeros versículos del capítulo primero, las citas de los otros capítulos del libro sagrado son tan abundantes, profusas y comentadas, que bien puede decirse que los dos volúmenes abordan casi el completo comentario del Libro Sagrado.
