Erziehung, Note: 1,5, Evangelische Hochschule Berlin, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Johann Amos Comenius war ein Visionär, ein Christ, Optimist und vor allem Humanist, ausgestattet mit einem gesunden Menschenverstand, viel Sympathie und Verständnis. 1657 veröffentlichte Comenius sein wohl bekanntestes Werk: "Die Große Didaktik" - die Große Unterrichtslehre. Die "Didaktik des Lebens", so wie sie Comenius selbst nannte, verfolgt das Ziel, "allen Menschen alles zu lehren", basierend auf dem hohen Anspruch, dass nur über die Bildung erreicht werden kann, dass der Mensch (wieder) zum Mensch wird. Denn Comenius glaubte, und das hing auch mit den damaligen politischen Umständen zusammen, dass die Welt nur dann aus dem Dunkel treten, die Verdorbenheit und den Hass hinter sich lassen könnte, wenn sie im Stande wäre, zu begreifen und zu verstehen, was nur erreicht werden könnte durch eine neue Methode des Lehrens, welche das Lernen vereinfacht und das Interesse am Wissen steigert, frei von Zwang und Gewalt. "Die Große Didaktik", welche also einerseits als Theorie des Lehrens und Lernens im Leben allgemein und andererseits als eine neue Unterrichtslehre fungiert, wurde so zum Symbol der optimistischen Anthropologie und diente zugleich bis heute als Leitfaden für eine neue Lernatmosphäre und hohen Lernertrag bei Schülern und Lehrern.
